what are some advantages of disc brakes vs the drum brakes

Some advantages are, there are fewer parts, they self adjust and self clean, they are better at dissipating heat, and less prone to fade.
what are some advantages to sliding or ” floating ” brake calipers ? they are not as prone to leak, they are one solid piece, and they are cheaper, more tolerant to the run-out.
a shim is placed between the pad and the caliper piston, for what reason? the shim in between the piston and the pad is to reduce the noise and brake squeal.
when the brake pedal doesn’t feel like it has pressure what can be causing it to feel this way ? low brake fluid in the master cylinder would cause the pedal to feel like it has less pressure than usual.
why is it a good idea to remove the brake bleeder screw before compressing the piston? opening the brake bleeding screw before compressing the piston is beneficial because it would let some air out rather than trapping it in the line making it harder to bleed them when you are done.
define what a floating or sliding caliper is? sliding or a floating caliper is a self adjusting caliper, it has a little bit of play in it to compensate and adjust itself.
what is a fixed caliper? a fixed caliper is, usually shimmed, mounted upright 90 degrees from the disc. and has no room to move causing slight brake drag.
